ITA Senior Player of the Year Award

Petra Hule from Florida State University has been named the 2022 ITA Senior Player of the Year Award Winner.

As one of the most storied players in Florida State history, Hule capped off her collegiate career this season by putting together another dominant season from the Seminoles No. 1 position.

In 2022, Hule racked up a 21-1 dual-match record playing No. 1 singles in the always-tough ACC. She finished the season ranked No. 7 in the nation in singles, while also contributing in doubles ranking No. 20 with partner Anna Arkadianou.

Hule has been a rock for a team that has often competed with less than 6 players this year. Her only loss in 2022 came to defending NCAA Champion Emma Navarro.

Hule has earned All-American status in Doubles over her career and earned All-American status in Singles in 2022. She is the highest-ranked player in FSU history.

A Letter From Head Coach: Jennifer Hyde

I do not quite exactly know how to put in to words how hugely excited I am to congratulate you on being selected as the ITA National Senior Player of the Year, but I will give it a go.

Of all the collegiate tennis awards which matter most at the conclusion of a college career, this award sits at the top of the list. What you achieved during the 2021-22 season is nothing short of exceptional. You were a dominant force, in our Southeast Region (as noted in your selection of Regional Most Improved Senior AND Senior Player of the Year awards and #1 Regional Ranking), in the ACC (losing only ONE match the entire spring season and earning All ACC First Team Selection), and in all of college tennis (achieving a ranking as high as top #3, finishing as the nations top ranked Senior player).

You are so deserving of this and of all the accolades that you have collected for your 2021-22 campaign, as you have stood out so brightly from the rest of so many talented, gifted, and successful tennis players whose collegiate careers are also coming to a close. Not to mention, you have left your mark in the record books here at Florida State as one of the All-Time greats to ever pass through our incredibly successful program. This season for you has been simply incredible, but it is just a snapshot of what your entire career at Florida State has been.

Words cannot describe how proud I am of you, and for you. And being by your side during this colorful and exceptional career of yours at Florida State has been an absolute honor for me. To see firsthand the vast growth and development, the successes and failures, that have built you in to the woman, competitor, and human being you are today gives me joy beyond measure.

I know this is just one small moment in time of the massive career that you still have ahead of you. And this moment, these moments with you, have been immensely special. As you continue to pour your mind, heart and soul in to your tennis and in to yourself, the sky truly is the limit for you. Cheers to you Pep, and to a job very well done.

Love you to pieces. CONGRATS, and GO NOLES Always!
