Race 3: The Dog Sled Derby “Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.”

🐺TEAMWORK!🐺

Dog Sled Derbies are categorized not only by distance, but by the maximum number of dogs allowed in each team.

The most usual categories are three-dog, four-dog, five-dog, six-dog, eight-dog, ten-dog, and unlimited (also called open), although other team size categories can be found.

ASSEMBLING THE DOG SLED TEAM

Assembling a dog sled team involves picking lead dogs, team dogs, swing dogs, and wheel dogs. The lead dog is crucial, so mushers depend on them to lead their teams. Another important detail is to have powerful wheel dogs to pull the sled out from the snow. Team dogs are the balancers located behind the swing dogs. Swing dogs are selected for their endurance, strength, and speed as part of the team.

And so the Dog Sled Derby begins...

The HuskieS are known for their internal group collaborations, birthday group songs, and group competitions participation. This is how they have improved throughout the years. They teach each other and check each others’ join. It can be difficult and tedious but at the end of the day, it’s the satisfaction of achieving a great collaboration and making music together that can touch everyone’s hearts.
The dog sled team will be assigned as to how a Musher would race with their team.
HINT: STRATEGICALLY DIVIDE THE TEAMS

The top ranks of Race 2 from each Pack will automatically be assigned as the Leader for their sled team.

  • NOTE: If there is a tie in ranks, they will both be the Leaders in the same team.

There will be a subgroup of sled teams per Pack. We will let you all choose your teams in your Pack BUT the Mushers need to make sure, it’s fairly distributed.

You will be given less than 24 hours to decide. If you are unable to choose, you will be auto-allocated.

Once your team is formed, you will NOT be allowed to change members throughout the entire race.

Add/Edit your team names and members here:

If any of the top rank is ineligible, steps down, declines or forfeits, you may appoint a new leader by choosing one of the following options:

  1. The next in rank will become your leader.
  2. You may all vote or appoint your preferred leader on your team.
  3. Your Musher may appoint your leader on your team.
  4. You may volunteer to be the leader.
  5. Auto allocate the leader.

Now for the Leaders and Mushers, it is their responsibility to execute a good clean entry and keep their team in check. The Race Marshals will also assist the teams for this race.

The goal is for your sled team to synchronize and move on together to the next race.

WHAT IF A CONTENDER DROPS OUT?

THE SHOW MUST GO ON!
  • If a contender drops out in the middle of the race and has already joined, no further action is required. Your entry and scores will NOT be affected.

~🐺🐺🐺~

RULES

  1. Choose a song that fits the mechanics.
  2. Partition and assign the position of each team members. FOCUS ON PARTITION NOT POSITION.
  3. The Mushers and Leaders may check their teams’ join via screen recording or voice message.
  4. The Mushers and Leaders may request their team member to hide their joins if deemed necessary. Be open-minded for improvement.
  5. You will be judged as a TEAM and NOT individually.

The others may have a difficult time so help each other by motivating one another. You can all do this if you work together. Again, strategy is key!

AND NOW FOR RACE 3!

American Dog Sled Derby mushers were international celebrities to such degree that one photogenic female musher named Lydia Hutchinson was tapped by a producer to star in a movie. She may have been on her way to being a movie star when she died of pneumonia in 1930.

Which leads us to the theme of this race...

For this race, your team will select ANY song from ANY movie with the story about TEAMWORK. The song can be of ANY genre, theme, year and any version as long as there is a proof link with a synopsis of the movie.

For this race, there will be NO ELIMINATION but rather, this will be for your learning experience as well as time in getting to know your fellow teammates!

We truly want you to enjoy this one!

BUT! This is still a race! The first to submit gets to choose on the next race!

HIKE!
