More than a motorcycle
Award-winning photographer-illustrator Chris Clor has become known for finding the real story within the image, applying his unique, cinematic style to whatever he sees. When tasked with photographing Harley Davidson against the landscape of London, he knew it would take more than simply grabbing some bikes and snapping off a few pics. Chris studied the Harley brand and sought out real owners, guys who have ridden thousands of miles all over the world. After a few pub visits with the riders to not only express his vision for the shoot and learn where their passion for owning a Harley lived, Chris found that the underlying emotion that emerged, beyond the obvious beauty of the machine, is the physical joy of riding. Whether alone or with friends, there exists a sense of freedom and a real energy, feeling the power of the bike as it owns the road beneath you. Without getting too technical, Chris went to great lengths rigging up a special shooting apparatus to afford him POVs that lets the viewer become part of the fun. Hop on and take a ride with these friends as they explore the streets and countryside of Great Britain.
A Good Scout
Like any smart shooter, Chris did his homework, scouting locations in advance, finding aggressive angles and perfect backgrounds for his imagined shots. By studying every detail, from how the environments are affected by light, sunrise-to-sunset, traffic patterns, architectural design and road surfaces, the landscape becomes just another character in the story.
