This October 31, 1990-issue addressed the now-famous Robert Mapplethorpe photography exhibit, and artistic expression vs. censorship.

Over the past year close to 500 issues of the Signal have been digitized. The student newspaper has been published consistently since 1960, making it one of the most important archival collections documenting the history of CSU Stanislaus.
