the mission: what is csed week?
"The computer programmer is a creator of universes for which he alone is responsible. Universes of virtually unlimited complexity can be created in the form of computer programs." -Joseph Weizenbaum
Weizenbaum's words are the ultimate goal of this movement. In our modern society, technology is rapidly evolving. The 21st century has introduced a profusion of brand new digital platforms through which creators throughout the globe can express themselves. We have advanced into a time in which the ability to create a brand new worlds simply by writing lines of code is at our disposal. We have gained the ability to explore and manipulate the language of our computers in any way we want to develop technological innovations that can make a positive difference in the world. Schools internationally are striving to make the field of computer science more accessible to all students by encouraging them to participate in their annual CSED events, Through Computer Science Education week, pupils of all ages are exposed to a new domain of valuable knowledge, a new medium of innovativeness and genuine creativity, an opportunity for peer collaboration, and, most importantly, the complexities that lay beyond the surfaces of the technology they use daily.
From December 5th to December 11th, this opportunity will be coming to Rancho del Rey! Royals will learn about the dimensions of computing and discover how to use it to their and the entire world's advantage.
