What is Kahoot?

Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform that makes it easy to create, share and play learning games or trivia quizzes in minutes. Unleash the fun in classrooms, offices and living rooms! Kahoot is free to all users.

Accessing KAHOOT

Eligible education institutions can get free access to Kahoot! Kahoot has an app available on Apple and Android mobile devices that lets you join hosted games, as well as play Kahoot! on your own or through challenges with friends.

Each student will have access to a laptop/Chromebook. We will use Kahoot as a review for test and quizzes. Students will also be able to make their own Kahoot games as review for their peers.

Lesson Plan

Subject: Math

Grade Level: 8th

Topic: Numbers and Operations

Learning Objective: I can pass my numbers and operations kahoot review

Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to test their knowledge in a review game of kahoot

Individual Assignment: Each group will log into Kahoot. Once they have logged and put their name into the kahoot system. We will then start a game of kahoot. Each student should answer each numbers and operations question to the best of their ability. At the end of the game the teacher will be able to review the most missed questions. After the game students will be placed into groups and will create their own kahoot game for a grade.

Assessment: Students will be graded on how well they answered each Kahoot question and how well each group created their own game.

Overall I give kahoot 5 stars. It is very unique and it gives students the ability to express their knowledge through a game. Kahoot is creative, fun and it can challenge each student.
