TLD GasGas SSR Wraps Up 2022 MX Tour at Walton Raceway Press Release

Over the past week the entire team attended the 2022 Walton Trans Can Amateur GNC which ended with the final round of the Triple Crown Series MX Tour. The team worked hard with Christopher Blackmer and Sam Gaynor racing the amateur nationals as well as participating in many events throughout the week. Gaynor would race and go 2-1-2 for 2nd overall in the Two Stroke Class. Blackmer would go 1-1-1 for the Pro/Am championship. Walton 2 would see Sam clinch the Triple Crown Series Premix Title. Congratulations Sam on the championship that you've worked very hard to achieve. MX2 and MX1 motos would both end early with Chris and Sam getting injured and not lining up for 2nd motos. Both riders will be taking some time to heal their injuries as nothing seems to be too serious at this time.

Sam Gaynor:

Premix:

Moto 1:

Moto 1 would see Sam Gaynor get off to a great start where he would see the green flag in 1st. Gaynor would start to click off consistent and fast laps and pull away from the rest of the field. Sam would ride out the entire moto to the checkers in 1st.

Moto 2:

As the gates dropped for moto 2 Sam would get off to a rough 8th place start. Over the next 2 laps he would push hard to make up 6 positions. Sitting in 2nd Sam would set his eyes on Drew Roberts. He would start clicking off some fast laps and end up making the pass on Roberts. Gaynor would pull away from the field over the final laps of the moto to a 1-1 finish on the day.

Congratulations Sam on your Triple Crown Series Premix Championship. After all the setbacks Sam has been through this year we as a team are very proud of what he has accomplished.

MX2:

Moto 1:

Sam Gaynor would once again ride in the MX2 class aboard his TLD GasGas SSR MC125. Sam would get off to a good start in moto 1 and sit in 12th after the opening laps. Gaynor would unfortunately have a scary crash and decide to ride back to the pits. After noticing some concerning symptoms from the crash Sam would go to the hospital and get checked out. We are happy to report Sam is doing ok and will take some time to recover his injuries.

Christopher Blackmer

MX1:

Moto 1:

Moto 1 would see Christopher Blackmer get off to a 10th place start. Pushing hard to make passes, Blackmer would move up to 6th after the opening two laps. Over the next 7 laps Chris would battle hard going back and forth with Keylan Meston. On lap 10 Chris would make a pass and start to pull away from Meston and maintain 5th. Unfortunately during the final laps of the moto a small crash would cause Chris to hurt his shoulder and arm enough that he was unable to finish the moto. After being accessed by medical staff Chris was advised to not race and get his injuries looked at. Chris is now back home in Michigan and will get his injuries looked at.

Thank you to all of our amazing sponsors, staff, riders, fans, and supporters for another amazing outdoor season. We seriously couldn’t do it without all of your support.
