The Mules got back to work shortly after the holiday, heading to Daytona Beach, Fla. to battle in the Sunshine Shootout. Lydia Mordarski (13 points, eight rebounds) and Carter McGloon (eight points, nine rebounds) narrowly missed collecting double-doubles.

In their second contest, Colby faced off against a tough Emmanuel team. Three first-year's tallied double-digit scores for the Mules (Mordarski, Gabrielle Hemenes, Chelsea Ibenegbu), but the Saints held their early lead throughout the contest en route to a 72-46 victory.

Men's Ice Hockey Plays Tough in Regional Action

Henry Molson

Colby returned from break and skated right into regional competition, traveling to the Empire State to face off against Hobart and Elmira in the High Roller Classic. The Mules played the nation's top-ranked team (Hobart) neck and neck, pulling within one goal halfway through the third frame (Henry Molson from Clay Korpi and Nick Stapleton), but the Statesmen were able to hold on for the 2-1 victory, securing their undefeated record and position atop the USCHO standings. Andy Beran had 29 saves in the contest.

On the second day of the Classic, Elmira jumped out to a two-goal lead before Colby was able to close the gap behind Abdoul Diouf's first goal of the season, assisted by John McElaney. The Soaring Eagles added a late empty-netter to secure the 3-1 win. CJ Hapward turned away 27 shots in his second start of the season between the pipes.
