Cynlluniwyd a chrewyd y prosiect 'Y Problem Plastig' gan tair athrawes ym Mlwyddyn 3 a 4 yn Ysgol Gymuned y Fali. Ar ddechrau’r tymor, roedd y ffocws yn glir ar lais y plant. Gofynnwyd i’r disgyblion gynhyrchu syniadau ar gyfer y thema drwy ddefnyddio teclyn Google Jamboard a daeth yn amlwg bod y plant eisiau darganfod y niwed mae llygredd plastig yn gwneud i'r byd a gweithredu ar hyn. Trefnwyd y prosiect yn gyfres o gamau bach gan gymryd yr arweiniad o syniadau'r plant.
Background
The project 'The Plastic Problem' was designed and created by three teachers in Year 3 and 4 at Ysgol Gymuned y Fali. At the beginning of the term, the focus was clearly on the children's voice. The pupils were asked to generate ideas for the theme by using the Google Jamboard tool and it became clear that the children wanted to find out the damage that plastic pollution does to the world and act on this. The project was organized into a series of small steps taking the lead from the children's ideas.

Gan barhau â thema cynaladwyedd creodd y plant gardiau Sul y Mamau gan ddefnyddio cardfwrdd wedi'i ailgylchu a'u haddurno â blodau a llythrennau wedi'u torri o hen gylchgronau.
Continuing with the theme of sustainability, the children created Mother's Day cards using recycled cardboard and decorated them with flowers and letters cut from old magazines.
Meistrolodd y plant eu sgiliau TGCh drwy greu cyflwyniad a ffeithlun. Dysgwyd llawer iawn o sgiliau newydd drwy ddefnyddio Adobe Creative Cloud i ymateb i Her 200 Gair. Mae'r plant yn amlwg yn angerddol am y problem plastig.
The children mastered their ICT skills by creating a presentation and an infographic. A great many new skills were learned by using Adobe Creative Cloud to respond to the 200 Word Challenge. The children are clearly passionate about the plastic problem.
Following the results of a single-use plastic questionnaire sent home, we found that sandwich wrap and small food packaging was the most used and thrown away. We had a 'brainstorming' session and a discussion within the class of how this could be resolved. One of the children's ideas was to create and use a beeswax wrap. A perfect example of the children leading the learning. Following this it was arranged for Sally Jones from Beeswax Wraps to come and show her work to the children before they set about creating their own wax wrap.

Cawsom sioc a roedden ychydig yn ofnus o'r broblem blastig sy'n digwydd yn ein hysgol ein hunain! Felly, penderfynwyd dylunio anghenfil allan o'r holl wastraff plastig!
We were shocked and a little scared of the plastic problem happening in our own school! So, it we decided to design a monster out of all the plastic waste!

But wait! This was not just our school!
Mae yna 40 ysgol ar Ynys Môn. Penderfynwyd amcangyfrif faint o boteli o blastig fyddai'n cael eu defnyddio o fewn 6 wythnos ar draws yr Ynys ac roeddem wedi synnu ar y canlyniadau!
There are 40 schools on Anglesey. It was decided to estimate how many plastic bottles would be used within 6 weeks across the Island and we were surprised at the results!
Os casglwn yr holl boteli plastig o'r 40 ysgol ar yr Ynys am 6 wythnos, byddan yn gallu creu 64 o'r bryfaid cop (1,350 poteli yr un)! Mae hyn yn broblem plastig mawr!
If we collect all the plastic bottles from the 40 schools on the Island for 6 weeks, we will be able to create 64 of the spiders (1,350 bottles each)! This is a big plastic problem!
Fe gwnaeth hyn ein hysbrydoli i yrru llythyr ffurfiol i'r Cyngor i'w perswadio i beidio a cyflenwi'r holl poteli plastig i ni a'r ysgolion eraill. Yna i feddwl am ffordd llai gwastraffus i yrru llefrith i ni sy'n llawer fwy caredig i'r byd.
This inspired us to send a formal letter to the Council to persuade them not to supply us and the other schools with all the plastic bottles. Then to think of a less wasteful way to drive milk for us that is much kinder to the world.

Defnyddiodd y plant Pinterest fel ysbrydoliaeth i greu eu bwrdd ffasiwn eu hunain o’r mathau o ddillad maen nhw’n eu hoffi.
The children used Pinterest as inspiration to create their own fashion board of the types of clothes they like.
