STEP ONE
In Google Calendar, locate the menu that shows you all of the calendars you've subscribed to (for Ian: "to which you have subscribed").
STEP TWO
Select the course calendar that you need to embed. Then click or tap on the three dots to the right of the course title. This will open up an options menu.
STEP THREE
From that menu, click or tap on Settings and sharing.
STEP FOUR
In the next menu that opens, scroll down until you see Access permissions and check the box to make your calendar public. A message will open that warns that anyone can find your calendar. I usually ignore this.
STEP FIVE
Scroll further down the menu until you find Public address in iCal format. Copy the entire address.
STEP SIX
Now, open the same course in Charger Commons. To do this, first click or tap on Groups Dashboard in the red bar at the bottom of the window.
STEP SEVEN
In the next window, hover your mouse over the Courses icon or just tap it . From the list that pops up, choose the one you need.
STEP EIGHT
In the next window, click or tap on Calendar in the toolbar, and then, in the pop-up menu, choose Calendar Tools.
STEP NINE
Under Calendar Tools, click or tap on Import Events. A window will open in the middle of the screen that looks like this:
Make sure that you select the correct calendar from the pull-down menu (I didn't do this and now one of my English I classes can see assignments for Philosophy In Film).
Paste the iCal URL in the field provided. I check the box, Publish on Import?, so I can immediately figure out if I've done things correctly. Then click or tap on Import.
STEP TEN
If you did everything right, you should see your assignments in the calendar. Congratulations. If you don't see your assignments, I suggest that you look at the picture below and go to a happy place in your mind. Then, utter a few profane words, and give it another shot. If you need help, just throw something at me.
