  • TAMIU's final Dusty Camp is Aug. 18-19. The first day of classes is Monday, Aug. 22. Are you ready for the new semester?
  • Students, remember to take full advantage of "Unfinished Business: A TAMIU Open House and Welcome Day" Saturday, Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center (ZSC). Potential and returning students can register for classes and meet with other offices, including Admissions Financial Aid, Testing and Student Health. Find out more.
  • If you know of someone who hasn't been able to finish their degree due to financial constraints, they may be interested in our #Comeback Programs. The Programs help resuming students determine the best choices available for them to complete their degree at TAMIU.

  • Monkeypox is a rare disease caused by infection with the monkeypox virus. As the disease also remains a threat to college campuses, TAMIU students are encouraged to remain informed about the disease via a CDC Monkeypox website, which includes disease FAQs. Learn more.

TAMIU Registration for Fall 2022 Continues, Classes Begin Monday, Aug. 22

Late registration for Fall continues through Friday, Aug. 26. The Texas A&M University System Board or Regents has announced that all A&M System campus, including TAMIU, will not increase tuition for this Fall, providing parents and students with relief from current inflation impacts.
  • TAMIU offers nearly 100 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programs. View TAMIU's Academic Catalog for a full list of degree programs at catalog.tamiu.edu
  • Prospective TAMIU students can visit the Future Dustdevil Hub, go.tamiu.edu/dustdevilhub, a digital resource center for future TAMIU students and parents to learn about incoming student admissions, registration procedures and access How-To videos.
  • The Registration Hub, https://www.tamiu.edu/reghub, offers insight into Registration with content, guides and resources specific to undergraduate and graduate students. It is designed in concert with both undergraduate and graduate advisors to provide students information on the registration process. It addresses issues like advising and holds, and includes a dynamic FAQ with answers and contacts.
  • TAMIU students can access a universe of scholarships available to them in the palm of their hand. With a smartphone, students can now access thousands of relevant scholarships through "TAMIUFund$Finder," a search tool that helps students find scholarships on and off-campus. To begin, students need only visit go.tamiu.edu/fundSfinder
  • Pay for classes online or create an installment plan at tamiu.edu/pay | Learn more about tuition payments at tamiu.edu/comptroller/bursar.shtml
  • For more information about financial assistance, email the University's Office of Financial Aid at financialaid@tamiu.edu to learn about options such as scholarships, grants, loans and student employment.

Final TAMIU Dusty Camp Happening Thursday and Friday, Aug. 18 - 19

Before beginning the Fall 2022 semester at TAMIU, incoming freshman and transfer students will take part in a time-honored campus tradition. Affectionately known as Dusty Camp, the two-day student orientation experience focuses on helping incoming students learn more about University services, academic expectations, and receive a first-hand experience of student life on campus.

Dusty Camps are expected to take place throughout the summer months, with the final session scheduled for:

  • Dusty Camp VI: Thursday, Aug. 18 and Friday, Aug. 19

TAMIU Offers Special Outreach Event this Saturday, Aug. 20

An summer outreach event created by TAMIU to help potential and returning students enter University this Fall, is happening Saturday, Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center. This free event helps students and their families finalize their plans for Fall with a one-stop shop experience.

TAMIU Website Offers Peek at Fall '22 Plans

2022 Sames Scholars Cohort Introduced at Annual Orientation

The newest high school Sames Scholars cohort was recently introduced at a gathering at TAMIU. The Sames Scholars Program is a college-bound mentorship program that pairs high school students with TAMIU faculty mentors throughout their high school experience. Upon high school graduation, it offers students a four-year scholarship to TAMIU including tuition, books and fees.

#CountOnMe Campaign Features Campus Offices, Departments

TAMIU's #CountOnMe campaign is a social media-based video series highlighting campus departments and their staff members. The campaign includes video and Facebook/Instagram Stories that feature staff members from the University’s Rec Sports, University College’s Academic Center for Excellence, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of Student Orientation, Leadership and Engagement, the Office of Career Services and more.

TAMIU Athletics Update

TAMIU is a member of the Lone Star Conference and competes in 11 sports: volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, softball, baseball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's golf.
