The concept of identity is far from simple. it is a complex cord woven by threads of influential landscapes, belief systems, cultural traditions, and individuality. tied to our past, it connects us supportively to the present and pulls us with encouragement toward our future.

Cici Harahap, a 43 year old Muslim American woman, teaches her children the importance of honoring personal identity at all times and in all places.

By honoring her own identity she confidently shows others not only what is possible, but what is uniquely beautiful within each person.

identity is a personal acknowledgement and an on-going exploration of self. To honor it is to understand the importance of each contributing factor, big or small, and to give it space within the daily places of ones life.
