The WUC at WUF11: Key Moments
1. WUC Steering Committee and Assembly of Partners
Tuesday 28 June - [9:30-11:30 pm]: WUC Partners will meet the newly elected Steering Committee and reflect on the last two years of action. Organizations will discuss upcoming activities and decide on a new road map and plan of action.
2. Special Session: The City We Need NOW!
Tuesday 28 June - [4:00-6:00 pm]: The session will present The City We Need Now!, an action-oriented manifesto prepared by the WUC coalition of +220 partner organizations representing 16 constituencies. The session will present action areas, solutions, and game-changers to accelerate the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the SDGs, based on the results of Urban Thinkers Campus 2021-22 and regional advocacy and engagement campaigns on The City We Need Now! PARTNERS WILL PRESENT THEIR DECLARED ACTIONS AT WUF11.
3. WUC Dinner

PREPARE YOUR DECLARED ACTIONS
The WUF11 Declared Actions will be a key document to present voluntary actions and commitments from Partner organizations for the next two years. Those will be announced at the closing session of the WUF.
Declared Actions are meant to support of the implementation of the New Urban Agenda as an accelerator to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in this Decade of Action.
ALL WUC partner organizations are invited to commit individually. We would like to recommend that you align yourself to the 60 priority actions of The City We Need Now!
TheCityWeNeed Now! Campaign
We are off-track to achieve the SDGs by 2030 and the urban world as we know it is at risk. Cities are struggling with multiple crisis amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic and the multiple effects of climate change. Vulnerable groups are hit by social, economic, and political challenges, resulting in devastating setbacks to advance inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities.
The City We Need is NOW! regional campaigns in Africa, Latin America and the Carribean, North America, Europe, the Middle East and Arab States will remind the world that cities and communities are accelerators for the implementation of the SDGs. Regional campaign partners will promote city changers that have made an impact on their communities and solutions for cities to accelerate action to achieve the New Urban Agenda under the UN Decade of Action.
Join us to develop solutions and take action in cities and communities to implement the New Urban Agenda and help accelerate the achievement of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) by 2030. We build synergies and take action towards ambitious goals commensurate with the global effort needed to deliver the 2030 promise under the Decade of Action.
