April 2023

Dear family, this month we focused our preaching on returning to our first love, who is Jesus. The reason is because our relationship with Jesus is what determines every other relationship in our lives and also every other part of our lives. There is a saying that states "the purpose of man is to know God and to enjoy him forever". We live from a place of being loved by God and delighting ourselves in him. Living like this positions us to live life to the fullest. I trust that you have returned to your first love and that you align everything in your life according to how Jesus leads. Many blessings and grace, Ps Serge Solomons
"And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength." Mark 12:30

WHAT HAPPENED IN APRIL?

King's Feast - On the 2nd of April we had our King's Feast. We celebrated by having a special service seated at the table with communion and with a table picnic after the service. It was wonderful as always to spend time as a family and have fellowship together. Praise God for the death and resurrection of Jesus!

Healing prayer: We had such a blessed Healing Prayer night this month. There was significant time spent ministering to individuals and the Lord met everyone in an incredible way. Significant time was spent on individual ministry.

Men's breakfast: "On Saturday, the 22nd of April, we had the privilege of connecting over breakfast as Men and discuss the theme and meaning of Radical Obedience. Pieter Kelbrick and Gerhard Painter shared their testimony with us and formed part of the panel discussion. As men we have a role to play in being Obedient in our lives that cover not only family life but also obedience as men of God in the workplace, community and in our social lives. As men we’re Blessed to not be walking this path alone and God has brought other men into our lives to share the journey and support us. This is how we also support each other through His presence and by holding each other accountable." - Roelof van Huyssteen
Baptisms: We had an incredibly special Baptism Sunday on the 23rd of April. Elza Engelbrecht, Thando Khumalo, Lochner Eksteen and Annelize Venter-Eksteen were baptized after our Sunday service at Orban. We rejoice with you for making this public declaration in following Jesus!
Goodbye: On Sunday, the 23rd of April, we said goodbye to the beloved Jan-Adriaan, Rianné and Daniël du Plessis. We wish them the best in their move to Stellenbosch and know that the congregation they join, will be blessed by them being there. We will miss you!
