While its annual meetings have been informal, the Jackrabbit is a valued event of sharing among bar members. Professional concerns, trends in the organized bar, and other topics of common interest are discussed in meetings and informal gatherings. Registrants are encouraged to participate in the discussions and to bring along ideas, projects and problems of interest to the group. The social traditions of the Jackrabbit stem from its original conception as an annual weekend of social interaction among members of constituent state bar associations. Informality is the only rule; the wearing of ties is strictly prohibited. The member states include Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.
