Get Ready With me for a Harry Styles Concert By Anna Esper

If there is one thing about me, it's that I love Harry Styles. Almost everyone knows that about me. So, when he announced his residency in Chicago I knew I had to go. After making many people sign up to help my friends and I get the opportunity to see him again, my grandma got the tickets. Now, the waiting began.

After the original concert date got postponed to Monday, Oct. 10, my parents decided to drive my friends Skye Scott and Justine Reilly back to Chicago for the new show after school on Monday.

So, we packed our boas, sparkly outfits, butterfly hair clips, and Harry Styles doll I got for Christmas as a joke and headed on our way to Chicago.

On the four hour car-ride we listened to every song in Styles discography hoping to force the lyrics into my dads head.

Since we started our drive right after school, we had to get ready in the car. An hour away from the arena, The United Center, we stopped at a Wendy's and changed into our Love on Tour approved outfits.

We got to the arena with an hour and a half until the doors opened. So, we opened the trunk, put the seats down, and started hair and makeup. One of the fun things about Styles' concerts is that everyone dresses their best. Everyone dresses in extravagant outfits, and do your best makeup when you know you are going to cry it all off.

After hair and makeup were done, we got our accessories. Before walking to the arena, we ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We finished our transition Tiktoks and began to walk to the arena.

One of my favorite parts of Styles's concerts is seeing everyone's amazing outfits. Seeing everyone's outfits creates a sense of community you can't find anywhere else. The amount of love that fills everyone in that arena touches everyone.

When we walked into the arena, the first 100,000 fans got puzzle pieces. The fans had the opportunity to find other pieces to the puzzle around the arena.

There were other fun opportunities for fans around the arena. One of the opportunities was the phonebooths spread around the arena. In the phonebooths, you could record a message that The United Center is putting on a record for Styles.

Around 9:00 p.m Styles came on stage. For an hour and a half, we sing songs, dance like no one is watching, and be whoever we want to be. They call it Love On Tour for a reason, the love that fills the room creates a feeling of home. Everyone is welcome in the room. That is my favorite thing about Style's concerts. Everyone belongs.
