Get ready for Movember 2021

Movember (or ‘No shave November’) was first introduced in 2003 after two friends, Travis Garone and Luke Slattery, challenged each other to grow moustaches over 30 days. Due to success of the event the following year, Travis and Luke had donated funds to PCFA (Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia).

Over the years, Movember has partnered with many health campaigns and used its platform to raise awareness for men’s health issues.

Funds are offered to organisations to help with issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, men’s suicide, and many more.

To show your support, start with a clean-shaven face and grow your moustache this November!

If you wish to show your support in an alternative way or to donate, please click the button below.

Employee of the Month

October’s Employee of the Month goes to a lady that has been at Alert Health since the very beginning. Ashleigh joined Alert Health in September 2019 and consistently exceeded expectations since then. She is passionate about providing the very best levels of care, approaching her role in good humour!

Congratulations Ashleigh Duncan!

Our Somerset Branch Manager, Robin Wilson said:

'She is one of our longest-standing staff members who always has an upbeat and flexible attitude. In October, Ashleigh has received some great feedback including a home that had a Covid-19 outbreak; “we don’t know what we would have done without her”. Everywhere Ashleigh goes she is always requested again and again.'

Changes at Alert Health

Since Alert Health 24 was founded we have gone from strength to strength, despite the obvious challenges faced by the whole Health and Social Care sector. Our mission and values have helped us develop strong relationships with all our staff and clients. It is because of this that we have seen further demand for our services, in new geographical areas.

As a result, we are delighted to announce we have launched 2 new offices, and as such have added to our team:

Meet Robin Wilson

We are delighted to welcome Robin, the Branch Manager for Somerset. He has worked in care for just over two years. Robin has recently taken over the Somerset branch from Aaron.

Aaron has successfully led the Somerset branch for two years but will be moving to Devon to help us launch one of our new offices.

Tell us about yourself

'I enjoy sports such as football, I play board games with friends, spend time visiting zoos and walking my dog, Lia. I am a keen cook that loves trying new food and drinks from around the world.'

What made you want to work in care?

'My previous experience in recruitment and sales made me want to step into a sector where it felt I made a difference to more than just the company I work for. The chance to be able to help residents in a care setting is something close to my heart.'

What attracted you to work at Alert Health?

'Being able to collaborate in a business openly where my thoughts and ideas will be recognised. Having spoken with Steve and Aaron about the values of Alert Health 24, I knew it lined up with my beliefs on how to run a successful care agency where care is the main focus.'

What do you like best about your role at Alert Health?

'I love being able to interview and induct a new staff member to know how much of an impact they will have on the services that I then go to meet.'

Meet April Wildman

April has also joined our team as Branch Manager for Worcestershire. She has been working in this industry for nearly three years.

April lives in Worcester with her partner and their 'very spoilt cat'. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going for walks and attending the weekly pub quiz.

What made you want to work in care?

'I have always loved working with people and building relationships. Working in care means that I can do these things whilst contributing towards making a difference in people's lives. The care industry is full of interesting people who are passionate about what they do and what they do is so important.'

What attracted you to Alert Health?

'Alert Health values align with my own. It's all about teamwork. I love the emphasis and importance placed on getting it right for healthcare staff and clients so that everyone feels rewarded and valued.'

What is the best thing about your role at Alert Health?

'The best thing about my role is being able to give our staff the flexibility they need to still be able to do a job that they are passionate about and enjoy. Receiving good feedback about our staff and the positive impact they have had whilst working is very rewarding. And of course, meeting our lovely clients!'

COVID-19 Updates

Please read the sections below!

This section contains important information about legislation changes. Please read through it carefully.

Proof of Immunisation

As you are aware, COVID-19 vaccines will shortly be mandatory for all those working in the care industry. This means that all of our staff are required to be fully vaccinated.

Please ensure you send us proof of immunisation by the 11th of November. Proof can be sent to communications@ah24.co.uk

COVID-19 Pass Code

The Covid-19 Pass Code is a QR code that verifies your immunisation. This Pass Code can be accessed and received on the NHS mobile app.

Below, you have a step by step guide to receiving your COVID-19 Pass Code.

LFT Tests

LFT tests are used to test yourself or others for Covid-19. LFT tests are similar to pregnancy tests; they give quick and easy to read results that allow users to ensure their safety as well as the safety of those around them

This test kit includes a long cotton bud which you swab over your tonsils and inside your nose.

Our requirements around LFT tests

You are required to take an LFT test before every shift. If you do not take an LFT test, you will not be able to attend your shift.

If you test positive, please call and inform your local branch.

How to get LFT tests

You are able to get LFT tests through a very easy process on the NHS website. If you are in need of LFT tests, please use the link below.

https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

Please ensure you order your LFT tests before your current ones run out. However, if you are in need of an immediate LFT test, please contact your local branch.
