Meet Lots of Great People

With over 120 members in the GVHS Band, you will meet LOTS of kids in grades 9-12, and through your high school career, many of them will become your good friends!

AMAZING TRIPS!

You will get to go on lots of trips with the high school band, from BIG trips like Disney, Universal Studios, and Hawaii, to smaller trips like community caroling, local competitions, music festivals in Hershey, PA and Wildwood, NJ!

Band camp

We have an AMAZING time at band camp. Band Camp is two weeks starting in mid-August, where we learn our halftime show. Fun activities every day, and awesome catered dinners each night!

Football games

One of the most fun things about band is cheering on our football team and having fun at the games.

Teamwork

You will be part of a team where EVERYONE is an important part of the show. We all work together and support each other.

Concert band

We have two seated bands: Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble (honors). We have three concerts a year and play really fun, challenging music.

GVHS Band Members regularly participate in PMEA Honors Festivals

Color Guard

Do you like movement, dance, or gymnastics? You can join our amazing COLOR GUARD and learn how to spin flags, sabres, and rifles and be an integral part of our show!

Drumline

Be a part of our amazing drum line! You can play snare, bass drum, tenors, cymbals, mallets, auxiliary, bass, guitar, or even drum set!

Our two jazz bands rehearse several times a week and participate in festivals and competitions

ADD Band to your High School schedule!

We welcome all interested students! Even if you have no experience. We will teach you everything you need to know and help you get started! To join band, all you have to do is add a band class to your schedule! Incoming 9th graders who play woodwinds or brass instruments should register for Concert Band, and percussion students register for Percussion Ensemble. We know you will have lots of questions!
