Entrepreneurship

For the next 2 weeks entrepreneurship will be talking about product lifecycle and product development processes. During these lessons students learn what stages products go through from conception to end of product life. Then they look at opportunities and how ideas are thought of. They will talk about patents and how to make money from their ideas.

Carpentry

For the next three weeks carpentry will be working on concrete form work. They have built a 12ft by 36 ft long wall which they will be learning how to work with concrete. They are putting three windows and one door on this wall by the time it is finished.

Digital Media

Digital Media students are all in the process of curirating their work as they prepare for their final portfolios. Many students have also achieved certifications from SkillsUSA in areas of Diversity and CTE Knowledge. Two students also submitted work for the Congressional Art Contest. Planning has also continued for the inaugural year of the Digital Media Academy. Digital Film Productions Students have continued their work on creating content. Videos released this month include new episodes of Tahquitz SoundBar and Real Life Minecraft.

Sports medicine

Level one students will be working on the creation of Emergency Action Plans, created by different environmental factors (lightning, heat, cold, fires, etc). Leading into the creation of their own athletic training room clinic.

Level two students have begun working on their CPR and first aid training. At the end of the training student in Sports Med 2 will be certified in CPR/AED and Basic First Aid by the American Heart Association.

Elizabeth Maldonado

Elizabeth is a year 2 student who participates in class and always contributes to class discussions when called upon. She stays up on her work and is always pleasant in class.

Aliah Shaeffer

Aliah's been a real contributor to helping with first aid and CPR. She is not afraid to help those around and a pleasure to have in class.

Lacy Diaz

This is Lacy's first year in the construction class. Lacy helped do the artwork on several projects that the class has done this year. She plans to take over and run the instagram account for the class for the next school year. She also has expressed that she intends to go into engineering after high school.

Antwan Byers

Antwan is a Digital Media II student who is currently a junior. Antwan is expected to function as a leader in his senior year for the CTSO. His positive attitude and dedication to his growth will help usher in a new era for Tahquitz High School's CTSO.
