selling out
The Boston College game will mark NC State's sixth sell-out of 2022. That’s the highest number of sold-out games in a season since the Wolfpack sold out six games in 2003.
owning it
A victory over Boston College would do more than move the Wolfpack’s record to 8-2 - it would give the Wolfpack the record for longest home winning streak in school history.
Last week’s win over Wake Forest was NC State’s 16th in a row at home, tying the mark under head coach Lou Holtz from 1972-75.It’s the sixth-best active home winning streak in the FBS.
It would mark the first time since the 1973-74 seasons that the Pack won every home game in consecutive seasons.
NC State has opened 5-0 at home in 2022, posted a 7-0 mark in games played in Carter-Finley in 2021 and has not lost a home game since Nov. 6, 2020.
The 2021 Wolfpack was the first squad since 1986 (35 years) to go undefeated at home (and that squad did post one tie) and one of just six teams in school history (1967, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1986) to post an unblemished record at Carter-Finley Stadium.
When the ball is kicked off on Saturday (Nov. 12), 736 days will have passed since the Wolfpack lost a home game.
legacy builders
Thirty-two Wolfpack players who could be in their last home contest will be honored before the Boston College game. Although the ceremony will be a long one, the impact this group has had on the program will last much longer.
Sixteen of the 30 have been multiple year starters and three (K Chris Dunn, SAF Tanner Ingle and LB Isaiah Moore) are actually in their fifth season as starters.
Here’s a look at the group by the numbers:
First timers
MJ Morris became the 14th different player to start at quarterback from the Wolfpack when he got the nod in the win against Wake Forest. Of those 14, he is one of only two to start a game as a true freshman. The only other one was Philip Rivers, who started the season opener of his true freshman season on Sept. 2, 2000 - before Morris was even born.
Unlike Rivers, who graduated high school early and had been on campus for nine months before his first start, Morris arrived on campus in June for the second session of summer school and was expected to redshirt while playing behind preseason ACC Player of the Year Devin Leary in 2022.
Morris and Rivers and Jacoby Brissett are also the only Pack players that managed to throw for three touchdown passes in their first career start for NC State (although Brissett also threw an INT).
simply the best
Wolfpack kicker Christopher Dunn is THE best kicker in the country in 2022. Prove us wrong:
• One of just five kickers who haven’t missed a FG (18) or a PAT (24) this season.
• Of the 10 FBS kickers who haven’t missed a field goal this season, Dunn has four more than any other.
• Has gone 9-9 from 40+ yards this season. Only one other FBS kicker has more 40+ yard field goals without a miss (Stanford’s Joshua Marty is 10-10). No one else is better than 5-5 beyond 40.
• Ranks second in the P5 in field goals made (Michigan’s Jake Moody has hit 19 in 24 attempts).
• Just one of just 14 FBS kickers with multiple FGs of 50+ and one of just six that haven’t missed beyond 50.
• Has made seven FGs this year that have either tied the game or given NC State a lead, tied for third-most nationally.
• A midseason All-American on multiple lists.
• Tied his career-best with four made field goals in the win over Florida State, scoring 13 of the team’s 19 points. He also tied his career-long with a 53-yarder in that come-from-behind victory.
• In game 7 vs. Syracuse, he scored all nine of the Pack’s points.
• Now in his fifth season as NC State’s starting kicker, Dunn has set career records for scoring, PATs and field goals in his third and fourth seasons. Now he’s simply making sure no one will ever break them.
• Has scored 455 career points, connected on 87 field goals and has 194 PATs to his credit. He ranks second in ACC history in kick scoring, third in overall scoring and second in FGs.
holding on
NC State has now gone three straight games without a turnover on offense.
For the season, the Wolfpack has turned the ball over just eight times. That mark ranks third in the ACC and 15th in the FBS.
doeren it right
As his 10th season at NC State enters the final stretch, head coach Dave Doeren has the Wolfpack enjoying success that’s unprecedented in school history.

• Tied with the longest home winning streak in school history (16)
• Ranks second in school history in career victories (71).
• Has led the Pack to five of the top 20 win totals in school history.
• NC State has qualified for eight bowls in 10 years - another program-best.

• His players have won three national awards (Bradley Chubb won the Nagurski & Hendricks Award in 2017 and Garrett Bradbury won the Rimington Award in 2018).
• Has had 23 players drafted by the NFL, including 16 in the last five drafts.
• Boasts three first-round draft picks.
