Rock Valley wins second national title in three years

Lansing, MI - Rock Valley (IL) takes home the 2022 NJCAA Men's Bowling Championship at Royal Scot Golf and Bowl. This title is the school's second in school history and in the last three years. The Golden Eagles started the tournament strong and never lost their lead throughout. On the first day of play, Rock Valley held a 166 pin lead and never surrendered it entering Saturday.

Iowa Central claimed its third consecutive runner-up finish, marking the program's fourth straight top-three finish. Erie (NY) walked away with third place, which is their highest placement since 2017. Iowa Western and defending champion Hawkeye round out the top-5.

Full Championship Results

Rock Valley totaled 14,065 pins throughout the tournament. Iowa Central came in second with 13,946, and Erie followed closely behind with 13,665 pins.

Golden Eagles reclaim men's bowling title

Rock Valley held the lead for the entire tournament and showed how strong of a team they were. Freshman James Stewart led the way for the Golden Eagles, claiming the all-event title and, with doubles partner Zach Joiner, won the doubles title. Joiner finished 4th in the all-event and earned all-America honors.

Defending all-event champion Josh Roth brought experience from last year into this tournament and was able to provide a strong performance.

Iowa Central places second in a close final

For the third consecutive year, Iowa Central earned silver at the NJCAA Men's Bowling Championship. Sophomore Jacob Kraft put together a strong performance. Kraft and duo sophomore Dale Weaver finished second in the doubles event.

The Tritons saw two student-athletes earn all-America honors. Jacob Kraft with a second-place finish and sophomore Derek Rucker finished in sixth.

Iowa Western's Cameron Brundage takes home singles championship

Iowa Western earned a fourth-place finish in Lansing. The Reivers were led by freshman Cameron Brundage who rolled a three-game series of 720. Brundage finished with a 38 point lead over second place. This was the highest mark in the singles championship since the 2012 championship. Teammate Derek Baucom finished in third place in the singles championship with 677 pins.

All-America Team

The top-8 finishers of the All-Events standings are named to the NJCAA All-America team. The All-America team features student-athletes from five different schools. Iowa Central features three student-athletes and champion Rock Valley featured two respectively.
