We have encountered many restrictions due to Covid but continue to deliver, creating an outdoor exhibition as part of June Fest 2021 in the safest way possible.
June Fest organisers have again for a second year, re-imagined how the festival will take place in the midst of all that is ongoing and unresolved by taking an outdoor approach to this year's events.

While the picture is far from certain Kildare Art Collective are taking small steps towards June fest, matching our small steps with small scale work. The project acknowledges limitations imposed on the population but also that the longest journey starts with one step. The miniatures are an expression of the beginning of a longer walk towards better days. Artists considered what they most look forward to when restrictions are lifted. The small scale works delightfully anticipate the varied ways in which we are preparing to live and work when real life resumes. - IMAGE Tinge's of Georges Street by Derek Finn
Kildare Art Collective is dedicated to supporting the professional development of Kildare based artists.
We make good things happen by providing a platform and ongoing opportunities for Kildare based artists working across a broad spectrum of disciplines. We create and show fresh contemporary work and encourage development through experimentation and collaboration between artists.
We contribute to the cultural life of the county by engaging in a meaningful way with the wider community. We do this by remaining enthusiastic, engaged, malleable and open to new possibilities.

Ireland is home to a broad network of arts organisations, artists and galleries. According to Visual Arts Ireland directory, there are 101 public art galleries in Ireland and Northern Ireland. (Public Galleries | Visual Artists Ireland, 2021), currently there are 274 live listings in the directory of public art on Publicart.ie (View all public art | Directory | Public Art, 2021).
It is evident that there is an already well established culture of creativity in Ireland, however there is reliance on external funding to provide for continued creative and cultural development.
There is an urgent need to shift focus away from the monetary values assigned to artistic merit and practice, attention must be paid to the numerous other benefits resulting from creative activities on a national scale.
