1. I’m still applauding Amazon for their earnings report last Friday. If that wasn’t enough, now they are more than doubling the maximum base pay for both corporate and tech employees (not sure how they technically distinguish between those two groups) from $160k to $350k. I would support someone from this group going to Amazon.

2. Chipotle beat earnings today, even against inflation, by pulling a simple trigger. They raised prices….without hurting their demand (they’ve raised prices even more YTD in 2022). Now, I do enjoy me some Chipotle from time to time, but I wouldn’t say I’m a regular there. Do you guys go to Chipotle as often as the rest of the country seems to be going? Fun fact, there is apparently seasonality in the burrito business….with demand for burritos rising in Spring and peaking in Summer. Perhaps an even more impressive close to 2021 given they were fighting seasonality.

3. Peloton woes. First they over hyped themselves and their growth during the pandemic by painting a picture of a long term shift in demand……when in actuality it was as short term blurb due to the world’s favorite Flu aka COVID. (You can see this by the habits of one of our own getting back into [snazzy] gyms as of late…..#equinoxNYC.) They lowered their pricing last year in hopes of driving up demand. Did that work….nope. Now they basically gave customers a price increase by charging delivery/set up fees. Looks like they don’t have the same loyal following as our burrito brethren mentioned above and price isn’t a lever that’s going to benefit them in a positive way.

4. So who will buy Peloton anyways….anyone worthy? Apple, Netflix, Google, Nike, General Electric?? Really….does anyone even care?

5. Can someone please answer me why TF is American-born, Eileen Gu skiing for China? She dominated last night and won gold. She’s also beautiful. Like supermodel beautiful. Literally….she’s a supermodel. #respect Maybe she has family being threatened and held hostage unless she brings gold back to China…..similar to the one fight in Diggstown where they held his brother for ransom unless he won the fight. Only logical explanation I could come up with.
