Flu Season protect yourself & your loved ones

A note from your Nurse Practitioner

Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently. Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it to others. To protect yourself and your loved ones, I recommend a yearly vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older.

Did you know?

- Flu season in the U.S. is October-May

- Flu causes millions of illnesses, hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths every season

- Some people develop complications from the flu, like pneumonia

- Trivalent flu vaccine protects against two influenza A viruses and an influenza B virus

No one likes getting shots...

But what is worse-- getting a quick stick from a knowledgeable health care provider, or risking exposure to the flu virus, which can be spread by someone a mere 6 feet away?
YUCK!

Protect Your Family with the Flu Vaccine

Flu vaccines are offered by many doctors' offices, clinics, health departments, pharmacies and college health centers, as well as by many employers and even by some schools.

The CDC recommends that people get vaccinated by October if possible.
