Welcome to another great week here at Lone Mountain. This week we celebrate Read Across America which officially occurs on 3/2/23- Dr. Seuss' birthday. All week long we will be exposing students to different types of writing and reading genres as we celebrate our love for reading. In correlation with this celebration of reading our Book Fair begins here at LMES on 3/2/23. Please stop by and purchase some new books for your family to enjoy.
As a reminder, students should not have their cell phones/devices or Apple watches out and accessible during the school day. Phones need to be on vibrate or turned off and stored in your child's backpack. Following these school cell phone/device procedures helps minimize distractions during class, prevents cheating, ensures student safety, and promotes social interaction among students at recess and lunch. Please help your student remember to adhere to these school policies. Thank you!

"SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN
This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a monthly prize drawing.
Monthly in addition to our SOAR and Eagle awards here at LMES, we celebrate "Terrific Kids of Character" in a partnership with Kiwanis. This award is a student-recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance. “Terrific” is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive, and Capable. Join me in congratulating Jake, Cayden, Josilyn, Sydney, Shelby, Camden, Lily, and Sebastian.
LONE MOUNTAIN TAX CREDIT OPPORTUNITY
Please join us in our efforts to provide continuing opportunities for our students. Arizona’s tax law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows families a tax credit of up to $400 for married couples and $200 for individuals.
Here at Lone Mountain our tax credit donations are used primarily for-
- STEAM Learning
- Sports and Clubs
- Playground Equipment and Shade structure
- Capital Items- such as technology
- Programs Most in Need- which allows our Site Council to choose how to spend the money.
Please consider donating and contributing to the great things we have happening on our campus.
