Traditional Tales Nursery, Spring term, week 3

We have been living the life of Princes and Princesses this week. Our main focus is this half term is on Traditional Tales and what better way to experience the stories than to become fairytale characters ourselves.

Life as a princess involves lots of singing 'Let it go' at the top of our voices, great for self confidence and self expression!
Even royalty need to relax with a good book every so often.
New friendships have bloomed over the sharing of dresses.

Huge credit to the children for their ambitious writing this week. The challenge was to write the numeral 1 and 2 but I've been informed that these are not the most important numbers, obviously 3 and 4 are, because the children are all either 3 or 4 years old. Silly me. So we gave it a go!

Grandma B came to visit, she's a fussy old lady. She only likes things that begin with the sound 'b' so we helped her out by sorting out which toys she should keep in her bag.

Mr Walker and Miss Watson have kept us busy outside with a range of yoga moves and balancing work. Physical strength is important for many aspects of life as we grow up, including our ability to write. Every single day we build our strength ready for our future writing skills.

Xīnnián hǎo! Happy New Year! Chinese new year was celebrated on Sunday 22nd January. As part of our understanding of the world curriculum we looked at traditional Chinese celebrations and taste tested some Chinese food commonly found in the UK.

A few final pics from the week. Sensory play with the sand, welcoming back friends, singing with the lycra, and learning alongside siblings.
