Finnegan Fieldhouse
Home to Franciscan's varsity men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball, Finnegan Fieldhouse sits right in the middle of campus.
The recently renovated fieldhouse features a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, large aerobics room, flex room, training room, four varsity locker rooms, and the athletic offices.
The court inside Finnegan Fieldhouse is named for the late Henry "Hank" Kuzma, former Baron Basketball Coach that held a 95-17 record from 1954-59, including a 47 home-game winning streak.
The playing surface was just totally replaced including a redesign of the floor graphics as you can see in the video below.
Trinity Health System Field
As of the Fall of 2022 Phase I and II have been completed at Trinity Health System Field, the home of the Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, Men's and Women's Lacrosse Teams, and Men's and Women's Track & Field Teams.
The First Phase of the project consisted of a new lighted synthetic turf surface, an access road, and an asphalt track. Then Phase II brought the Carapellotti Fieldhouse, which is men' s and women's locker room just off the west side of the field. It also brought a public restroom, new safety nets around the field, and rubber coating to the track for it to be used for practice and hopefully host meets in the near future.
Additional funding opportunities are available to help finish Phase III of this facility. That would include a new video scoreboard, stadium seating and press box, concession stand, and a storage building.
In the Fall of the 2022, Men's Soccer won their first PAC Championship on this field under the lights in front of a massive crowd.
Rugby Pitch
Overlooking Trinity Health System Field is the new Rugby Pitch that sits on the highest point of Franciscan's campus.
It features a grass field, electronic scoreboard, media platform at midfield with internet for streaming, and a storage shed.
The Barons practice and host matches here. Since it was moved to it's current location in 2019, it has been known as one of the best pitches in the Alleghney Rugby Union.
Vaccaro Field
After a nine-year hiatus, Vaccaro Field was once again the home of the Franciscan Baseball team starting with the 2020 seaosn.
It features batting cages, in-ground dugouts, bullpens, an electronic scoreboard, a press box, and a new lights for night games.
It is situated in front of the softball field. As of the Fall of 2022 a new parking lot is situated past the new, 20 ft tall right field fence. Spectators may park there or around home plate.
Belleview Tennis Courts
Just west of campus located at the end of Belleview Blvd in Belleview Park are six tennis courts that are the home of the men's and women's programs
The six courts were most recently resurfaced in the summer of 2018. The courts are just a short walk from campus and have lights for late-night matches or practice.
Softball Field
The Softball Field was built on campus in 2010 and saw it's first varsity action in the spring of 2011 and is the home to the NCAA Softball Team
The Field sits behind Vaccaro Field on the Northeast corner of Franciscan's campus. It features in-ground dugouts, bullpens next to both dugouts, an electronic scoreboard, and bleacher seating.
The Steubenville Country Club sits less than five miles off campus at 413 Lovers Lane and is home to the Women's Golf program
The par 72 course has a maximum distance of 6,559. It sits on 150+ acres of rolling, wooded hills that presents a variety of challenges to players of all levels. The course is most known for having some of the fastest greens in the Ohio Valley.
The team is also able to utilize the diving range, massive putting green, and chipping areas.
It is also home to the Presidents' Golf Outing which has become one of the main fundraisers for the Franciscan Athletic Department.
Big Red Natatorium
The home of the Franciscan Women's Swimming & Diving Team is at Steubenville High School at 420 N 4th St. Park north of the school to enter in the main entrance then the Natatorium is immediately to your left.
The Barons practice and host meets at the eight-lane pool that has a Daktronics timing system with touchpads.
