TO COMPLY WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF NOVA SCOTIA, HCRE & SOCCER NOVA SCOTIA PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINE POLICY, AS OF OCTOBER 4TH, 2021, ALL THOSE 12 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER INVOLVED WITH HALIFAX CITY SOCCER CLUB PROGRAMMING WILL REQUIRE PROOF OF VACCINATION OR PROOF OF EXEMPTION.
WHO NEEDS TO SHOW PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION?
- Players who are 12 and older*
- Adult Participating in the U4-U5 Program**
- Team Officials (coaches, managers, trainers, instructors, etc.)
- Game Officials (referees, assistant referees, 4th officials, etc.)
- Clubs (Soccer club directors, officers, executive and staff)
- Volunteers
- Spectators***
People who are 12 and older need to show proof of full vaccination unless:
- they have an exception letter for a medical reason
- they have an exception letter because they are in a clinical trial for COVID-19 vaccine
*Players who turned 12 between January 1st and October 4th 2021 have until December 31st to attend events and activities while they get vaccinated, this includes practices and games. Players who turn 12 after October 4th will have five (5) months from their birthday. If they choose not to get vaccinated, they will no longer be able to participate in these events and activities once the grace period is up. No refunds will be given for those who decide to participate until the grace period is up and then choose to withdraw due to not receiving a vaccine.
**The adult who is accommodating their child in the U4-U5 program will be required to show proof of vaccination prior to entering the building to participate. If the parent is unable to show proof of vaccination the child will be unable to participate in that specific session.
***Halifax City Soccer Club cannot accommodate spectators into facilities unless the facility has a designated staff member policing the door, ensuring those allowed entry have the correct vaccination records. We unfortunately are at several facilities and do not have the staff resource to have individuals policing at the front doors. Note: Spectators will also be a part of individual facility policies and is something we do not control.
Halifax City Soccer Club will be asking all members who fall under the Vaccine Policy to provide proof of full vaccination. This can be done by showing full vaccination records to a Halifax City Soccer Club authorized representative. Original proof of full vaccination records are acceptable in paper and digital formats, as well as clear photos, screenshots and photocopies. At minimum, a record must show all the following information to demonstrate proof of full vaccination:
- The person’s name
- The brand(s) of vaccine received (such as Moderna, Pfizer, etc) An indication that all required doses for that brand of vaccine were received
- The date when the final dose was received
Halifax City Soccer Club cannot accept emailed pictures of vaccination records as we are not authorized to keep or request any vaccination receipts on file. Halifax City Soccer Club will put a check mark next to each person who provides proof of full vaccination in the manner indicated above. These records will require a verbal or signed consent form (download here) which will be kept on record by Halifax City Soccer Club. Again, no record of vaccination receipt (the picture copy of the official vaccination record from Public Health Nova Scotia) will be kept on file with Halifax City Soccer Club.
EXAMPLE OF HOW WE WILL STORE PROOF OF VACCINATION
We ask that each person affected by the Covid-19 Vaccination Policy provide proof of vaccination to authorized personnel. Halifax City Soccer Club nor Soccer Nova Scotia are liable for any person who provides false information in regards to their vaccination record. Such persons will be subject to any fines/regulations deemed appropriate by the government of Nova Scotia.
