Level 2 Football
After a year without any sporting competition, we were delighted to be able to take three teams to Stanley Park for the annual level 2 football games, to compete against teams from other primary schools from Chippenham and the surrounding area. Most significantly, we were really proud to be the only school to be able to field a team made up entirely of girls; Miss Murphy was incredibly proud of her team, who competed admirably against other boys teams and earned many compliments from opposing coaches.
Despite the traditional Stanley Park weather, all three teams played some great football, always in the right spirit, and with a smile. After two comfortable wins and a draw, ‘Monkton Park 1’ won their group and progressed into the semi finals. There, they were too strong for Redland, setting up a final against Kings Lodge. The two teams could not be separated after extra time, so the game went to a penalty shoot out, where our boys held their nerve to coolly dispatch their spot kicks. For the first time in living memory, Monkton Park were the winners of the Level 2 games! A huge congratulations to all involved.

We will be collecting your kind donations from Monday 29th November.
This Christmas there will be families in Chippenham struggling to put food on the table. Monkton Park School would like to help by collecting donations for the local Food Bank. The Chippenham Foodbank is run by the The Chippenham Salvation Army. They have seen a huge increase in demand.
The Food Bank would be grateful for donations any non-perishable/good dated Christmas food. They also always need any tinned and packaged food for everyday use.
The Chippenham Food bank can help anyone who is struggling to afford or access food for as long as necessary. You don’t need a referral you just need to call them on 01249 655458 or email chippenham@salvationarmy.org.uk.
