A Sincere Recommendation: Best Places to Cry on Campus By Karina Arson - Staff pyromaniac

For many of us, middle school and high school are formative years where we learn about the world, create long lasting friendships, labor for hours over homework, and, of course, cry. Luckily for us, Pinewood has a beautiful campus with spots perfect for softly weeping into your palms, dramatically sobbing or even shedding a single tear and letting it slowly roll down your face while gazing off into the distance.

Here are five of the best places to cry on campus:

1. The Math and Fitness Center Balcony

Walk up the stairs, cross the balcony and sit down on the stairs on the far right. While the balcony can be a horrible place to cry when P.E. classes are doing workouts or people are blasting music from inside the fitness center, at least your sobbing session will be scenic. I recommend going during the first two periods to bask in the early morning sunlight while curled in the fetal position, quietly sniffling.

2. The Student Achievement Center (SAC)

Most of us go to the SAC in an attempt to attack the ever growing pile of homework or study for tests. Since the majority of people are fixated on their work and wearing headphones, they will not bat an eye if you start sobbing uncontrollably.

3. The Turkey

Have you ever tried to run while crying? Me neither. It’s always a good day to try new things. Just try to time your run so that you do not end up sprinting past unsuspecting dog walkers and deeply concerned equestrians mid breakdown.

4. The Space Between the Junior High School Science Room Bushes and the Parking Lot Trees

Since almost nobody goes back there and it is hidden from the view of the parking lot, this is a perfectly secluded place to weep softly. Potential con: a class of junior high students and a snake spot you crying and stare. Best of luck.

5. A Bathroom Stall

A classic. As all the teen rom coms I consume tell me, crying in the bathroom with a lunch tray on your lap is a quintessential high school experience. Why miss out?
