At the beginning of May, Gary and fellow Whisky Priest Mick Tyas played a cosy little gig alongside our good friends Naomi Bedford and Paul Simmonds.
Naomi and Paul were on the first leg of the promotional tour for their newly released album 'Singing It All Back Home - Appalachian Ballads of English and Scottish Origin', and were looking for a fill-in gig between Edinburgh and Birmingham, rather than have a free night. Us being located in Durham, it was a great opportunity for them to kip at our house and for us to have a catch up, as well as play the gig.
Mick sorted the venue, The Ship Inn in Middlestone, just up the road from where we live, and we all did our bit with the organisation and promotion.
I had very recently finished the cover artwork for Naomi and Paul's album, and although I was lucky enough to have had early access to some of the songs for research and creative purposes, I was excited to hear them performed live. I wasn't disappointed!
It was a great night, with brilliant performances from everyone. A really lovely, chilled out night for everyone that came. Fun times with a fantastic bunch of people. Here's a few photos and a little video for you.
