Lone Mountain Eagle Eye January 3, 2022

Lone Mountain Families,

Welcome to our new and returning LMES families. I hope everyone had a restful winter break filled with joy. I am excited for the next 18 weeks of learning and continuing to see our students grow. These next two quarters are sure to go by quickly .

As we begin the new year I want to take this moment to remind everyone of our arrival/ dismissal procedures as well as COVID procedures for the Cave Creek Unified School District. Please read more below on these two important safety processes here at Lone Mountain.

I wish you all a wonderful week. Please contact me if there is ever anything that I can do for you or your child.

Respectfully, Emily Hill

ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL AT LONE MOUNTAIN

As a reminder there are two ways for students to arrive and dismiss from campus. These two ways are car drive up and busses. For our families utilizing drive up here are some helpful tips for a smooth drop off and pick up experience.

  • Line up single file on Montgomery Rd while waiting to enter the driveway.
  • Please do not enter the front driveway until 8:40 AM or 3:25 PM. Families of preschool and PALS students may be lined up in the front driveway earlier as they dismiss a few minutes earlier allowing our youngest students and students requiring special assistance extra time to get in their vehicles.
  • At dismissal - show your bright green car tag number to our staff member. Please have them visible in your car. If you need additional car tags please let your child's teacher know.
  • Pull up to a colored cone. Stay in order. Wait for your child. We will unload and load 10 cars at a time.
  • Please do not block the crosswalk when in the front driveway.
  • If your child needs assistance buckling their car seat please pull forward and up past the red cone so that you can assist your child and we can keep the car line moving.
  • Please do not pass other drivers unless directed to do so.
  • If your child is not ready at dismissal, we will ask you to park and we will bring them out when ready.

WHEN STUDENTS ARE SICK & CCUSD'S REMAIN IN SCHOOL PLAN

If your child is experiencing any symptoms of illness, please keep them at home. It is best practice to keep your children home when they are feeling any symptoms of an illness. Please do not send your child to school if you are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test. If someone in your family tests positive for COVID-19, please consider following MCDPH guidelines that close contacts quarantine to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Please click here to see CCUSD's "remain in school plan" as well as flow charts and guidance from the Maricopa County Health Department regarding COVID-19. If you have any questions regarding COVID 19 protocols/ procedures here at LMES, please contact the front office so we may inform you.

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE

In Cave Creek Unified School District the safety and security of our students is of the utmost importance. In an effort to provide safety for our bus riders we are requiring all students who ride the bus to be signed up for transportation through the parent portal. This can be done by clicking the following link transportation sign up. Starting on January 18th 2022, if your student is not signed up for transportation through the parent portal for safety reasons we will not be able to transport your student. If you need assistance signing up for transportation in the parent portal contact Chris Aden at caden@ccusd93.net.

If you have any questions contact Pam Nelson pnelson@ccusd93.net in transportation.

Thank you for your support in keeping our students safe.

COUNSELING CORNER

Lone Mountain is lucky to have a full time counselor on our staff this year. If you would like to contact her please reach out to her at jfiordirosa@ccusd93.net

Make Responsibility Easier

Elementary students are still learning how to be responsible. To help your child understand and carry out responsibilities:

• Use checklists. Write down what your child is expected to do: chores, self-care responsibilities, tasks for school, etc. Let them check items off as they complete them. Checking items off will help track their progress and help them feel accomplished!

• Designate places where they should store their things when they’re not using them.

• Show them how to track assignments and commitments on their own calendar. This will also help promote independence!

EAGLE AWARD WINNERS

This year we are celebrating students who demonstrate our SOAR ( safety, open-mindedness, A+ attitude, respect) expectations around campus. Staff are able to nominate students weekly who exemplify strong character and academic excellence. Students who are nominated will receive a certificate honoring this accomplishment as well as a prize. Congratulations to the winners from last week who received a gift certificate from Cherry on Top. Join me in congratulating Ellie, Gavin, Olivia, Cali, and Elli. Way to go Eagles!
