The awards are an essential, trusted source for inspiration and guidance as travelers make plans to set out on trips around the globe recognizing the top hotels, islands, cities, cruise lines, airlines, spas, and more around the globe, based on the results of the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Readers’ Survey.

Every year Travel + Leisure asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe — to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Hotels are rated on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value.

This recognition is a powerful testament to the guest experience, as the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards is a leading barometer of the places and companies that satisfy some of the most passionate and discerning travelers out there now.

We are honored to have won this award. Thanks to the team who have put their heart and soul into making this happen. Although my partners and I have been in hospitality for many years, this is the first time as hoteliers. While there are plenty of extravagant stays and familiar brands in the city of Copenhagen, we are thrilled to be recognized for delivering an exceptional experience that stands out in a highly competitive landscape," says Christian Lytje, Cofoco CEO and Owner

Coco hotel was conceived by Cofoco whose signature, quality, style, and sustainability approach is welcomed by both locals and visitors alike. Cofoco has been a driving force within the Copenhagen food scene delivering hospitality since 2004, now with 16 restaurants in the city. Coco is their first foray into turning their inimitable style into a hotel. The property is best described as a small Parisian style hotel curated with a Copenhagen sense of space and time. The interior is a bespoke mix between the modern and classic, vintage, and new.

"Coco was created with the belief that great hospitality can be beautiful, affordable and sustainable. With this opening, Cofoco steps out of the dining room to fill a gap in the Copenhagen hotel market," says Christian Lytje.

THE VIBE

Upon entering the hotel, you will find Café Coco, a bright airy space which serves as a hub for guests and locals who use it to meet friends and for informal business meetings. The adjacent courtyard offers coffee, locally sourced light meals, snacks and of course a thoughtfully selected wine list, drinks, and cocktails.

Surrounding a green and serene courtyard, the hotel's 88 rooms are designed to make you feel welcome and comfortable whether staying for business or pleasure. Located in the heart of Vesterbro neighborhood, considered the cultural lifeblood of the city, guests have easy access to everything Copenhagen offers. Named 'One of the 10 World's Coolest Neighborhoods in the World' by Lonely Planet, the area just keeps getting better and Coco hotel adds to that cool factor.

The hotel offers eight categories of rooms: Single, Small Double, Double, Twin, Triple, Superior, Superior Room, Family Suite, and the Junior Suite. Ranging from 150 sq ft to 270 sq ft. larger rooms include a cosy sitting area and each room has an ensuite bath with either a shower and/or bathtub. Rooms are functionally decorated without compromising comfort or design. Additional amenities include organic cotton bed linens and towels, Wi-Fi access, and room service is available from 09:00 pm to 22:00 pm.

SUSTAINABILITY

Don’t let the beautiful suites fool you, this is a hotel with sustainability at its core. From morning to night, everything revolves around the sun, whether it’s streaming through the dormer windows of each room or powering the lights each night with electricity generated by Cofoco's very own solar field. Café Coco primarily serves organic products, and you will find no plastic bottles in the minibar. All towels and bed linens are made from organic cotton. The entire building has been renovated with energy and water saving solutions and, like Cofoco's restaurants, the hotel is covered by sustainable energy from Cofoco's own solar park in Nees, North West Jutland.

COFOCO

Parent company Cofoco owns a total of 16 restaurants with several in Vesterbro, so should you wish to explore the area you can find a variety of choices all in the family. It all started at Restaurant Cofoco, rustic and elegant, simple, and complex, Danish ingredients that prepared in a way to make the ingredients shine their brightest.
