Aquabrella: The Water Gun Umbrella Portfolio by Brenda Villalobos

Jack and the Request

The beginning of this journey all started when I was randomly assigned to a unique concept. Jack, my client, is an entrepreneur whose big plan was to create a toy for children to enjoy the outdoors, a water gun umbrella. As I stumbled into creating Jack's idea into a reality, I learned multiple Adobe tools to create the visual brand identity of Jack's product idea.

During the journey, I created an empathy map to empathize and synthesize my observations from the research stage about the ideal customer. Once I knew who was being targeted, the next action was the Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe offered many tools, including Adobe Colors to create the color scheme, Adobe Fonts to discover the suitable fonts, Adobe Illustrator to design the logo, and Adobe Photoshop to produce the flyer. With the help of Adobe tools, I was able to create a brand that would spark the customer and optimistically bring together relationships closer.

What is a Water Gun Umbrella?

Jack had a vision of creating water gun umbrellas that brings outdoor fun all year long regardless of the weather. Jack explained that this product would have a built-in shield that brings the umbrella aspect of the water gun product.

Why Parents?

For the children to use the water gun umbrella, parents play as the buyer persona. I believe it is important to understand the parents' point of view since their buying decision depends on whether or not their child will use this product. Of course, the children will be the individuals demanding their parents to purchase this product for them. Nevertheless, the controversy of guns especially toy guns, drives parents the purchase decision.
