Bienvenidos a un nuevo curso escolar 2016-2017. Estos son los aspectos globales que compondrán este nuevo curso que comienza el día 7 de septiembre.

Newton College
Fundado en 1991 Newton College celebra 25 años durante el curso académico 2016-2017, para lo cual estamos preparando pequeños eventos, que se convertirán en grandes oportunidades para que alumnos y familias compartan y disfruten talentos y habilidades en sus distintas disciplinas, siendo este el tema central de nuestro 25 aniversario. Pronto os presentaremos en qué consistirán y el objetivo de estas acciones: "Opening Minds"
Newton College was founded 25 years ago in 1991, for this i reason we are celebrating with different events, all of them great opportunities for families and students to share and enjoy abilities and talents, as this is the main theme for our 25th School anniversary. You will soon receive further information about these events and their objective:"Opening Minds"
Algunas de estas acciones estarán relacionadas con expresión artística. Some of these events will be related to performing arts:

..tambien habrá espacio para la creación literaria y otros proyectos de nueva incorporación en este año tan especial; and there will also be space for literary creativity and other new projects added to the existing ones.

Newton College define su modelo de trabajo en base a "Creative & Design Thinking" enfoque donde se invita a los alumnos a viajar del reto a las soluciones innovadoras, eligiendo y tomando decisiones, inspirándose en nuevos espacios interesantes donde desarrollar la creatividad.

IM-learning Project (Integrated Mobile Learning Project): incorporación del iPad exclusivamente como herramienta de trabajo desde Year 4 hasta Year 13; iPad implementation in class exclusively as a working tool, from Year 4 to Year 13.
Colaboración institucional con Centros de referencia pedagógica y uso de dispositivos móviles en el aula: Google Apps for Education - Simposio Internacional Sevilla- Ørestad Gymnasium (Copenhaguen). Nuevas maneras de aprender a través de un proyecto sólido, formación en competencias digitales, bases pedagógicas dinámicas, respaldadas por la inquietud de nuestros docentes en explorar nuevas vías de aprendizaje y por los beneficios de la tecnología en el aula.
Different learning styles based on a solid project, on digital training, dynamic pedagogical models and are supported by our teachers´ inquiring attitude to explore different learning ways and the benefits of technology in class.

2015-2016: Primera prueba piloto de "E-Assessment"(evaluación online) en Year 11, ultimo curso de Programa de Años Intermedios (PAI). 2016-2017: Newton College formaliza sus exámenes oficiales en este formato de forma obligatoria para la obtención del Certificado del PAI. Resultados excelentes, donde nuestros alumnos superan la media mundial en ocho de diez asignaturas. 2015-2016: First pilot project "E-Assessment" in Year 11, last year of the Middle Years Programme (MYP). 2016-2017: Newton College starts the first official E-Assessment in this format in order to obtain the MYP Certificate. Excellent results, where our students´results are above the world wide average in eight out of ten subjects.

2015-2016: Todos los alumnos presentados a la Prueba de Acceso a la Universidad han aprobado este examen, (100% aprobados) obteniendo una media de 7.5 en dicha prueba, siendo su media de Bachillerato 7.7.
2015-2016: All students that took the University Entrance Exams have passed these exams (100% passed) and they obtained an average mark of 7.5, and the Sixth Form average mark is 7.7.
100% aprobados en los niveles de KET, PET, FCS (First), CAE (Advanced) y CPE (Proficiency), habiéndose presentado un total de 175 alumnos en la última convocatoria. 100% passed the following levels KET, PET, FCS (First), CAE (Advanced) y CPE (Proficiency), with a total number of 175 students that took these exams.
Siendo el Alemán la Lengua Extranjera en la etapa de Secundaria y Bachillerato, los alumnos se pueden presentar a tres niveles, siendo los resultados en la ultima convocatoria: FIT 1: 100%; FIT 2: 82% y B1: 100%. German is the Foreign Language in Secondary and Sixth Form and our students can decide to take the official exams. The last results of these exams were: FIT 1: 100%; FIT 2: 82% y B1: 100%
Nuestros alumnos de nacionalidad extranjera pueden preparar el acceso a exámenes oficiales del Instituto Cervantes, DELE. En la última convocatoria, los resultados han sido de 100% de aprobados: Nivel C1. Our non spanish students can prepare official exams recognized by Cervantes Institute: DELE. The last results of this exam was: 100% passed in Level C1.

- Programa Diploma Bilingüe: con un 50% de asignaturas impartidas en inglés para septiembre 2016.

- Programa de dos años con una certificación Diploma por parte de la OBI.

- Acceso directo a la Universidad con el título del Diploma, mediante exámenes oficiales en Mayo del segundo año, y realización de tres componentes obligatorios: CAS - Monografía - Teoría del Conocimiento, sin obligación de realizar el Examen de Acceso a la Universidad.
- Direct Access to University with the Diploma qualification, via official exams in May after passing the three compulsory components: CAS, Extended Essay - Theory of Knowledge.

A lo largo de su recorrido escolar, los alumnos viven y desarrollan a través de diferentes proyectos su inquietud por mejorar su entorno más inmediato, en torno a un PLAN DE ACCIÓN SOCIAL en el que colaboran: HOUSE SYSTEM - PLAYGROUND BUDDIES - CAS - SERVICE LEARNING y PROYECTOS a nivel de Colegio.

School Council
Continua nuestro "School Council" donde una representación de alumnos, supervisados por docentes, mantienen encuentros de forma regular con algún miembro de Dirección: Subdirector o Directora. De estos encuentros han salido proyectos, como "Eco TEAM", o "Huella Ecológica", así como otras ideas que mejoran el día a día de Newton para nuestros alumnos.
"School Council carries on with their regular meetings with a member of the SMT, Deputy Head or Head Teacher. From these meetings, School Council has launched projects like "Eco Team" or "Carbon Footprint", as well as some other ideas that improve the day-to-day life of Newton for our students.
