Artificial Intellegence By alfredo Ravinet
I was never intimidated by the advances of artificial intellegence because I underestimated how smart machines can become. Upon researching this topic more in depth I realize that control of artificial intellegence is a legitimate issue that we have to take action to control them for our safety.
Asimov's Three Laws of Artificial Intellegence and Robotics
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given to it by human, except when such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Secon Law.
For example it would help me with making me breakfast, recording my assaignments, hold my books, clean my room, do my laundry (etc.)
I think in addition to Asimov's Laws they shouldn't be in charge of making decisions that can condemn a person to death, nor, do I think they should be allowed to enter any type of law enforcement. Robots wouldn't be able to have any sympathy or gentleness to calm someone who may or may have not abused the law. A robot presence on patrols might intimedate people and might make people even more unwilling to cooperate.
- They don't have any emotion or sympathy.
- You would be giving another species equal or greater intellegence than Humans.
- You can teach them morality that we are born knowing.
- They wouldn't underestand social norms or certain social circumstances.
- A mass release of AI in the workforce might cripple the job market.
- Machines can have certain glitches a would need constant matenance.
- Robots can be hacked and in turn be used to do something bad.
- Personal robots could attack police officers for taking a person (it's master) into custody.
- There could be smuggling of robots into our country and be used for something bad.
- A robot can hurt people not realizing its strength and not be responsible for its actions.
