Teaching in Kenya My African Adventure

This summer I took an incredible journey to the land of Kenya. I spent 5 weeks with these beautiful souls and I have been forever changed.

Here I am teaching the children of the Masaii Mara the English words for our body parts. Their favorite was tongue. When I would walk home from school each day, the children would run by me yelling, "tongue, tongue."
I worked closely with a local NGO to ensure that I was providing the children and teachers with exactly what they were in need of.
I was able to make some powerful changes at Southern Cross Academy. This school is an IDP community about an hour bus ride away from the city of Nairobi. The school functions with very minimal supplies and teachers. The class I taught in for the one week I was there had 53 kindergartners. This makes my 31 second graders feel like a small class.
