My favorite things include coffee, traveling, design, technology, and, of course, photography!
I grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, where I pursued a career in Graphic Design and Multimedia, graduating in 2005. In 2007, I moved to the US to further my education.

I hold a couple of degrees, showcasing how a career path can evolve and transform over time. Pursuing Graphic Design played a key role in shaping me into the artist I am today!

  • B.A. in Graphic Design, Multimedia, and Web Design from LaSalle College International (Bogotá, Colombia)
  • A.A. in Computer Animation from College of the Canyons
  • B.A. in Art & Animation from CSU Northridge
  • M.S. in Instructional Design & Technology from CSU Fullerton.
My interest in animation was sparked by the movie Toy Story in 1995

When I began studying Graphic Design and Multimedia, my goal was to understand how to animate graphics and create art using a computer. I never imagined how much it would transform my life and career. Design not only inspired me creatively but also led me to explore motion graphics and pursue animation.

My experience in the entertainment industry flourished here in the U.S., where I studied motion graphics and 2D/3D animation. I had the opportunity to work on visual effects at FuseFX and animation at DreamWorks Animation Studios, both of which were incredibly rewarding experiences.

I had the pleasure of interning and working during the pre-production and production phases on "How to Train Your Dragon 3", "Mr. Peabody & Sherman", "Home", and "Boss Baby" at DreamWorks Animation Studios.

However, during my journey through school and the industry, I realized there was a significant need for designers in Higher Education. Educational resources often lacked the engaging design that students needed, which motivated me to return to the education sector. For the past 15 years, I've worked in Higher Ed, first at College of the Canyons and then at CSUN as a multimedia specialist.

Recognizing the importance of expanding my education, I pursued a Master's degree in Instructional Design and Technology, which focuses on the art of helping people learn through design. This journey has shown me how profoundly design has shaped my career and opened countless doors for me.

Currently, I'm a Learning Designer at CSU Channel Islands, where I apply my extensive background and expertise in interactive design, immersive technologies, and instructional methodologies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of online programs. My goal is to create engaging, learner-centered experiences through cutting-edge technologies and innovative pedagogical approaches, ensuring programs are impactful, inclusive, and aligned with best practices in digital learning.

Learning Designer | 2025

Over the years, I’ve had the rewarding experience of leading and coaching student teams, guiding them to integrate design into their careers. Today, many of these students are working at top companies in technology and design.
