I was aiming to just get a sharp selective focus shot of the leaves and branches but instead, I captured a raindrop hanging from the leaf. This shot was taken at the Brookhaven entrance by the parking lot. I find this shot interesting due to the focus on random spots of the tree as well as the focus in the middle of the shot where the raindrop is descending from off of the branch.
I took this picture for the Fall Beauty 2 shoot and it is one of my favorites. I love the way Scara's looking off with their turtle neck over their mouth and nose. This shot was taken to demonstrate filling the frame and strong subject. I love how Scara occupies the frame along with the leaves behind him on the ground. Furthermore, I like how their hair is strewn across the ground and a braid lays on their face.
I also took this shot for Fall Beauty 2. I honestly just took the picture for personal values, and then I realized it has some of the compositions we've gone over in class. There's repetition and selective focus. The colors and lighting give the photo vibrance and exposure while the trees leave a good shadow on the ground.
I took this picture for our quiz - we had to do all of the compositions we learned and this one was for framing. The splotchy-ness and blur make the photo look very un-textured which does give its own texture and a nice look. It's also appealing how the pumpkin is clear while everything else really isn't.
I took this shot for repetition, and it turned out amazing. The pattern of the mirrors and how the pink tab and turtle kind of mess with the pattern really makes the photo - literally and metaphorically. The higher angle gives it a good look along with the gaps in between the mirrors.
I took this for repetition too - I got the shot from the pool hallway, on the window into the office. The tape is all over and some are ripped up, which makes the photo look a bit "vintage" along with the coloring. The reflection of me in the window also compliments the shot.
I also took this for repetition in the green mile by one of the lockers. I put one mirror on top of the other and let the reflection of the locker and mirror repeat. The colors, lighting, and lines kind of make it into a diamond a bit. The vintage edit also gives it that effect.
I'm pretty sure I took this shot for selective focus while unknowingly using leading lines. I had the aperture a bit too high but editing fixed that. The focus is mainly on the plant but also on some of the pavement and bricks. And the dead bug and gum mess up the pattern of the pavement a bit - so that adds to the photo.
I - once again - took this shot for repetition. The focus makes it so the things that aren't in focus blur into each other. The blue and browns also complement each other. And although it was for repetition, there's also selective focus, strong subject, and rule of thirds. And there could be leading lines if you include the desk lines.
I took this during selective focus - not for it, just for a personal fun shot. There's not much focus on anything, but I really like how he colors pop out on the lense.
I took these pictures of Lexi for our mood shoot. We used the black background and lights in the studio and set the camera up on a tripod. We used AV and had the camera at F3. And I used the grid option on Adobe to get all of the photos into this grid.
I took this shot for our first shoot in DP; we went around the school with our cameras. This is a photo of a bar. When I saw it, I immediately thought of how to take this picture, got close to it, and set the focus. The grain in the focused part of the bar makes the photo pop there and the blur makes it so it's like a build-up.
Same with the picture above, I took this on our first shoot around the school near the same place but just down the road from it. I took this because I liked the tree and hoped to get a good shot. And overall, the focus was a lot better than I thought it was.
This is the same tree in the picture above, just this one is blurry because I was walking as I took the shot. I used some effects in lightroom to make the color brighter but the picture didn't need anything else but some adjustments on saturation and clarity.
For the last one, I took this for Fall Beauty 2. I took a few with different focuses of Scara walking and this turned out the best. There's selective focus, leading lines, and repetition. I used the clarity effect in lightroom to make it pop and messed with the coloring effects. I did crop it just a bit so it seems like Scara is closer to the camera than he actually was.
