Portland Woof Pack is an off-leash adventure camp for dogs in the Portland, Maine area
We pickup dogs from their homes via our adventure van (The “Woof Wagon”) and take them on 90 minute off-leash hikes where they can run around, play, sniff, swim, learn and explore with their friends. Our hikes usually take place outside of Portland, currently on 100+ acres of private land in Gorham (hike locations are subject to change based on weather, land availability, etc.)
Why Choose Dog Camp?
Dog Camp is no ordinary dog walking service. Unlike traditional doggy daycares or dog walkers, we help dogs get out of the house and into their natural environments in nature. We are a strictly off-leash program, meaning our dogs get to explore the trails, play in an open setting, sniff, carry sticks (safely), run around, get great exercise both mentally and physically, and overall just be a dog. It’s so important for dogs to just be dogs sometimes! Dog Camp not only benefits your dog in every way, but it also benefits you as the owner.
- Exercise - our 90 minute hikes are designed to get your dog’s energy out on the trails so that you can enjoy a tired, relaxed and happy pup at home.
- Socialization - our regularly scheduled pack adventures help dogs make lifelong friends. We separate our groups based on energy levels and temperaments to give your dog the best experience possible.
- Trail Training - our supplemental training helps well-behaved dogs become even better trail citizens and dog friends. Our dogs learn life skills that you can use outside of camp and that save you time and money on training.
Dog Camp Requirements
Dog Camp is for well behaved dogs, and unlike a doggie daycare, camp is not for every dog. Dogs must meet the following requirements in order to be accepted into Dog Camp:
- At least 2 years old
- Fixed and up to date on vaccinations
- Friendly with dogs (non-aggressive)
- Friendly with people and kids
- Does not run away or wander extremely far off-leash
- Has good recall (coming when called)
- Is able to ride well in the car with other dogs
Note: if your dog does not meet the criteria for Dog Camp, or if you are unsure, please reach out to us! We may have suggestions on how to get your dog ready for camp.
