Math (Swindell, Beasley, and Meeks):

This week scholars will review for the GMAS and take a practice GMAS. Homework is on progress learning this week.

Algebra I (Meeks):

This week scholars will be factoring using the quadratic equation as well as investigating projectile motion and area problems with quadratics. Homework this week is on progress learning.

ELA (Styron and Barker):

This week students will continue their final preparations for ELA GMAS testing happening next week. This includes reading for main idea, author’s purpose, key vocabulary usage, & making inferences in a provided text, citing the textual evidence that most strongly supports an analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text, and reading for various examples and uses of figurative language in a provided text.

ELA (Lee):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will continue reviewing key skills for GMAS, including elements of poetry and elements of a narrative.

9th Grade Lit (Lee):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will continue their analysis of Romeo and Juliet, including Shakespeare's use of language and characterization to develop the overarching theme: Choices and Consequences. We will also be reviewing key skills for GMAS testing.

Science (Carver and Lewis):

Students will explore conductors, insulators, and friction in order to explain the type of change the object will have. Student will also learn how static electricity works.

Social Studies (MacArthur and Lewis):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will continue their analysis of Romeo and Juliet, including Shakespeare's use of language and characterization to develop the overarching theme: Choices and Consequences. We will also be reviewing key skills for GMAS testing.
