Principal's Message
Thank you, parents and carers, for attending Parents Evening. We had a great turn out and it was great to see so many families attending. The children were able to share their work and hopefully you were able to find out more about your child's learning. If you wish to discuss your child's progress at any time then you can always make an appointment via the office or speak to your child's teacher in the morning.
Well done to those pupils who participated in the Dancing Schools Uk competition on Saturday. The children had a great time and performed fantastically. We will share pictures in next week's newsletter.

Learning round-up
Maple It has been a busy week for Maple class. The children have been working very hard in all areas of their learning.
In Geography this week have been looking the the stages of rivers, in maths we have been continuing to look at place value looking at ten more and ten less of a number and ordering number from ascending to descending. Keep up the hard work Maple class.
Silver Birch - Wow, I am becoming increasingly impressed with your improved attitude and focus this term. You have continued to work hard across all subjects, especially in your Talk for Writing and Talk for Reading lessons. It was amazing to see so many of you make predictions about the text and find justification of those predictions. What superstars! Really excited to see how we do this term!
Pine class have been having a great time with their learning this week! In Science we completed an investigation into sound and string telephones with some great scientific predictions, in Geography we have looked at some different kind of maps, and in History we did some group work to roleplay and teach each other about all the different classes in Ancient Roman society. Everyone is working really hard this year and we should all be proud.
Elder has had another amazing week! In Science we made telephone cups to test a hypothesis and in Talk for Writing we have been looking at compound sentences and -ed clauses to uplevel our work. The class has been working hard to be helpful and kind towards one another and lots have children have been completing ‘random acts of kindness’ which has been lovely to see. Keep it up Elder!
Willow - Its been a busy week this week , Willow have been writing some excellent magazine articles about Sir David Attenborough. They have been working hard with prime numbers and square numbers. It has also been a positive week with parents evening this week, I have been really proud of Willow and their success and hope it continues for the rest of the term.
SequoiaA fabulous week for Sequoia class. Lots of hard work, concentration and determination. The children have enjoyed finding out about the achievements of David Attenborough and other famous people that inspire them. They were also fascinated by the rock cycle and have been trying to use the correct terms - sedimentary , igneous and metamorphic. This week there have also been some wonderful examples of kindness towards each other too. Just brilliant!
Acer have worked incredibly hard this week to complete their assessments. I know they have tried their absolute best. In history, they have been analysing sources around the American Dream and discussing what the sources advertised life to be like in American, comparing to what people found when they arrived. Keep up the great work, Acer!
Oak have carried on learning about the different mega cities im Brazil this week in our Geography lessons. We learnt about the living conditions of favelas situated around Rio and their living conditions. In History, we found out about the American Dream and learnt how the reality of this migration was completely different to what was advertised.
