Turnitin Update

Attention faculty: It is time to transition your current Turnitin Assignments to the new integration format! Starting summer session 2022, only the integration will be available and the "old" Turnitin Assignments will not be available through Blackboard. Any old assignments drop boxes and submissions from past semesters will still be accessible to view on the Turnitin website itself. The reason for this move is due to a new integration from its current building block to a better streamline Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) connection. Some of the advantages of this new connection are:

  • More secure connection and better integration experience
  • Names and role provisioning services
  • Easier approach to setting up assignments
  • Better assignment and grade services

The eLearning team is offering training sessions starting March 7, 2022 through the end of April to help you transition and/or recreate these assignments. Register for any of the sessions to learn about the new changes in the setup for paper submission. These sessions are for novice to experienced users.

TAMUS New Accessibility Training

Texas A&M System's new EIR (Electronic Information Resources) Accessibility Training was assigned on TrainTraq to all of our DEITC members and faculty teaching online during Spring 2022. Once assigned, faculty will have one month to complete it. Faculty teaching online in Sub-term II will get this training assigned in March when the term begins.

The response to the training has been positive and the feedback has emphasized the fact that this is a comprehensive accessibility training that can be beneficial to all faculty using digital resources in their courses, so DEITC members proposed offering it to all faculty, not just online faculty members. During the Faculty Senate meeting on March 4th, Dr. Norris will present the proposal for approval.

Members of DEITC also discussed extending the EIR Accessibility Training to all staff as it includes information beneficial to all employees.

The eLearning Team continues to assist faculty through the QM course development process for courses being taught online. For an overview of the course development process, visit our Development Process of Distance Education Courses page.

QM Courses Certified

Since the last DEITC meeting in January 2022, there are eight more courses that have been QM certified.
