Clemson is located between the major cities of Atlanta and Charlotte and is a short drive from the smaller City of Greenville. Located on Lake Hartwell, in the valleys of the Blue Ridge mountains, Clemson is known for its outdoor activities (hiking, boating, jet-skiing, kayaking, etc.).
The Clemson Tigers men's soccer team plays in the ACC of NCAA Division I soccer this is the highest level soccer conference in the country. The program has won 3 NCAA national and 14 Atlantic Coast Conference championships and hosted 3 Hermann Trophy winners. The Tigers are one of the best-supported soccer teams in the country averaging over 4,500 a game. Clemson University soccer has produced many professionals, including Vertex Soccer players: Paul Clowes, Aaron Jones, Oliver Shannon, and Kimarni Smith who were all drafted by MLS teams following their graduation.
