Facts about St. Juliana

  • Right after her mother died in 1304, she gathered a small group of women who wanted to dedicate their lives for the service of others and prayer.
  • She was the founder of the Servite nuns.
  • Their convent was started in 1305.

Dear faithful servant of God, through your intercession, help those who are sick and dying. Hear the prayers of the family and friends of those who are ill and give them comfort in this time of their suffering. Amen

Death

  • Due to constant vomiting at the time of her death, she was not able to receive the Eucharist.
  • So instead the priest placed a corporal over her chest and placed the Host on it.
  • Juliana then died and the Host disappeared.
  • An image of the cross was found on her chest.
