What were done to prepare the slave for the auction?
To prepare the slave ready for the auction, the seller would clean the slave to make them look good as much as possible. The seller usually use the oil to rub them to make they look strong and healthy.
What qualities of the slaves the buyers was looking for?
In the slave auction no one would want to buy a weak and unhealthy slave. So the seller have to make the slaves look strong and healthy. The owner are looking for some strong slave because they need them for hard work.
What was the first thing the buyer did after they have bought the Slave to show that they belongs to them?
Once the buyer bought the slave from the auction, they usually brand them to show that this slave belongs to them. Each owner have different symbols or sign.
What happen to the unsold slaves?
After the auction there would be an unsold slaves.These slaves would be weak or unhealthy, no buyer would want to buy them. What they receive for being unsold was to be left over without any food or water, until they die.

What does slave do in their daily life?
The slaves started working at 5:30am until 6:00pm, but in the harvest season they have to work during the night. Slave lived on a diet of fatty meat and corn bread. They had hours of working so less time to improve their living. Some slaves have a day of rest but some don't usually is Sunday because they can pray. Some were allow to go to the church.
What punishment does slave resistance get?
There would be slaves that would want to run away. If the owner didn't caught them they were so lucky, but if they caught you! In the rest of your life you'll live with suffering !! For the rebellions, the owner would burn them by nailing them down on the ground with crock stick on every limb, and then applying fire by degrees from the feet and hands, burning them gradually up to head, where by their pains are great.

How many groups at slaves been divided in and why?
The slaves have many qualities, some are able to do this some are able to do that work but some don't. Slaves were divided in to 3 groups or we called it 'gangs.' The first gang is the strongest and the most healthy slaves, so they can do all the hard work. The second gang second group is composed of young girls and boy and also pregnant women. For the third gang is the younger children, attend by an old women.
Task: Your task is to create a mind map about the 3 gangs and try to describe them as much as possible.
