Mule Weekly Recap October 5, 2020

Being back together on campus at Colby and allowing us to practice has been a game changer for our baseball program. It has been so fun to be together as a team and watch these kids having fun playing again. Colby continues to find ways to enhance the student experience even during challenging times and our group is very thankful for that.

Jesse Woods, Head Baseball Coach

Baseball continued its Blue vs Gray series, completing their 3rd and 4th intrasquad scrimmages of the fall.
  • Junior Cabot Maher had three hits in the first game Saturday.
  • Junior John Doyle and Senior Frank Driscoll got the starts in the second game, both leaving after two innings of scoreless play.
Field Hockey started their CFH Cup series Friday night with a 6-2 White Team victory.
  • Senior Delaney Keithley (right) scored a goal for the Blue Team.
  • Senior Emily Hogan scored two goals to propel the White Team to victory.

Men's and Women's Cross Country entered into the New England 10k Relay. Participating teams race on their own campus, entering pairs who alternate 2k loops all the way to 10k.

Results will be submitted and tabulated early in the week for scoring.

The Men's and Women's Crew teams completed their third weekend of individual racing in the Snow Pond Racing Series on Messalonskee Lake.
Softball completed their third game in the Blue vs Gray Series.

First-year Payton Crowley (above) provided early runs for the Blue Team with a three-run home run, but the Gray Team was able to respond with a five-run fifth inning to take the win 7-6.

The Men's and Women's Tennis teams completed their third Dual Match in as many weeks.
We are very excited to have our student athletes back on campus and competing! Most impressive has been the effort by the entire Colby community as we meet the challenge COVID has brought into our lives.
