The Weston Weekly January 28, 2022

Happy Friday! In the Teacher Resource room at Weston we are working on adding more Interactive Read Aloud books for all teachers to use in their classrooms with students. If you are interested in donating a book to help us build our collection, please consider clicking the link below and purchasing one of the books for our school. These books will not only help grow our Weston students as readers, but also allow teachers to share their love and joy of reading. Thank you in advance for your generosity! Important Dates

E- Learning Day - Monday, February 14

Just a reminder that our next e-learning day is on February 14th. Students will NOT be on site for school. Teachers will provide students with lessons via Seesaw or Google Classroom and will have office hours during the day. With the remainder of the day, teachers will be participating in building and districtwide professional development. As soon as the schedule is finalized, be on the lookout for office hours in teacher newsletters.

If you have a need for childcare on this day, please check out the flyer below:

February 21st: President’s Day (No School/Weather Make-up Day)

March 14th- 25th: Spring Break (March 14-18 Weather Make-up Days)

American Heart Association ~ Kids Heart Challenge

Weston PE classes will be participating in the Kids Heart Challenge. The event runs from February 7 - February 18. Mrs. Bennett will be having the students do jumping themed stations and jump rope will be one of them! This is a great way for our students to learn about heart health while having fun. The top 5 students who earn the most money will get to slime Mrs. Bennett and receive a special gift.

There is also a special challenge and it’s focused on learning things about the heart and CPR. Students have the opportunity to complete certain challenges and receive a special gift!

Virtual Learning Information & Recess Temperature Guidelines

2-Hour Delay Schedule:

In the event of a 2-hour delay, the school doors will open at 9:20. The tardy bell rings at 9:40. No breakfast is served on delay days.

Virtual Learning Day Schedule:

As winter weather is upon us, we would encourage you to plan ahead in the event of a school cancellation. Please be prepared to have your student on-line for live virtual instruction with their classroom teacher at 9:00 AM. Your teacher will communicate a daily schedule with you in the event that in-person learning is canceled for a virtual learning day.

Cold Temperatures:

Recess: As the weather turns colder, please ensure your student is dressed appropriately for outdoor recess.

We will also use these temperature guidelines for car line. Students will remain inside the building. This may extend the time of car line dismissal, but will also ensure out students remain safe & warm.

In addition, for a home test to be accepted as documentation for a 90 day window pass (if these don't go away), you will need to send us a photograph of the positive test that also includes the student's name and test date.
