Fear of the Unknown A SARS-CoV-2 photo essay

Day 0: In every part of the world, it all began the same. No one knew how serious it was about to be. No one knew the worse was yet to come.
Day 6: I moved back to Hamilton to be away from my family. Having a parent that's immunodeficient can make any sane person, very, very paranoid. As I stare out the door, the thing that scares me the most is not knowing when I will see my family again. I miss them already.
Day 8: Waking up every morning in an empty house shouldn't be this hard; but it is, and it keeps getting harder. Cleaning my surrounding makes me feel in control. Scrubbing, wiping, washing, dusting, repeat.
Day 10: I'm afraid to go outside. The tree in front of my house used to provide me comfort. Now, It only reminds me of how interconnected we all are. How each branch, like each person, is connected. How it became so easy for one person to make thousands of others sick.

Day 12: Little things, like making my morning coffee, help keep me going.

Day 13: I tell myself that this is a great time to practice my art skills. To draw what I feel, or wish I could feel.

Day 14: I miss playing cards with my friends. I never noticed how happy it made me.

Day 14: I've started to eat more food. This was a really big deal for me.
As the days go by, I decide to journal my thoughts. Although I don't know when all of this will end, I do it for the ones I love, and for the ones who want to survive. Taking it day by day, I will get through this. WE will get through this.

A novel coronavirus, named Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), was identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China in 2019. The illness caused by this virus has been named coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)."
