Jim Crow Laws Jack Wilcox

Separate but "equal" laws segregated society and made life for African Americans below the whites. This is because of Separate but "equal" laws established by the Plessey V. Ferguson case.

The Black Nadir(late 1800's early 1900's) was at the peak of Jim Crow Laws when whites could practically rule blacks due to unfair laws.

Examples of Jim Crow Laws were coloreds were segregated in restaurants, schooling, and weren't allowed to marry whites.

Schooling Railroads, and buses are a few of many things that were segregated and meant to be "equal" but were not.

Jim Crow Laws made society believe whites were more important than coloreds, and during the Jim Crow period that mindset became the norm.

Shows, newspapers and nearly everything that was popular at the time of Jim Crow Laws showed stereotypes for black men and women. Either black men were perceived as "happy go lucky" or beast ready to commit crimes. These wrong sterotypes were all because of the Jim Crow Laws creating the impression coloreds were below whites.

Jim Crow Laws were unfair laws towards coloreds, therefor coloreds protested by marching and symbolizing the "death" of Jim Crow Laws.

Brown V. Board Of Education was a huge step to overruling Jim Crow Laws. All in all, it was the entire Civil Rights Act of the 1900's that ridded of Jim Crow Laws, but the Brown V. Board Of Education case of 1954 that made it unlawful for blacks and whites to attend separate schools, put a stomp on Jim Crow Laws.
